Albuquerque Roof Replacement Services

Tar & Gravel Roof Replacement – Rocky Mountain Roofing Services will tear off your existing tar and gravel roof and replace it with a new TPO roof system. Flat roofs need to withstand ponding water, thermal expansion/contraction, and decades of abuse from the sun. We’ll install your new TPO roof replacement system, customized to meet your roof’s slope, drainage, and budget requirements. Most flat roof replacements involve leveling roof-slope issues, adding insulation, and installing new flashing around skylights, roof vents, and HVAC units.
Foam Roof Replacement – Rocky Mountain Roofing Services will tear off your existing foam roof and replace it with a new TPO Roof System. Foam roofs can last a very long time when properly maintained. However, once the foam roof begins to fail and moisture reaches the foam, there is no reason to continue trying to repair it. We will completely remove your old foam roof down to the deck, repair any structural damage, and install a beautiful new roof.
Tile Roof Replacement – Rocky Mountain Roofing Services will tear off your tile roof and replace it with a new metal tile roof system. Tile roofs fail in New Mexico from the inside out. Tile roofs fail when the underlayment has deteriorated after 20-30 years of exposure to UV radiation and heat. We tear off the old tiles, inspect the roof deck, install high-temp underlayment, and install your gorgeous new metal roof.
Asphalt Shingle Roof Replacement – Rocky Mountain Roofing Services tears off your asphalt shingle roof and replaces it with a beautiful new metal roof system. Shingles just don’t last as long here in Albuquerque, NM, as they do elsewhere. Heat, UV radiation, and monsoon rains destroy them in 15-20 years. Our asphalt shingle roofs are installed with architectural shingles designed for high-heat areas and offer extra protection against UV and hail damage. All roof replacements include the tear-off of old roofing materials, a roof deck inspection, installation of new underlayment, and proper flashing at roof valleys and roof penetrations.

The Roof Replacement Process

We’ll book your roof inspection at a time that works for you.
Simple. No pressure. No ballpark figures or surprises.

Inspect Your Roof

We walk your roof and take photos of problematic areas, check flashing and roof penetrations, and look for deck damage or moisture issues. We also lift roof tiles at strategic locations to check underlayment on tile roofs.

Determine if You Need Roof Repair or Roof Replacement

We’ll be honest with you about what we find. If we feel that roof repairs are a possibility, we’ll let you know what would be repaired and how long the repairs should last. If a roof replacement is the best route, we’ll explain why and go over your material options that are within your budget and best suits your home.

Choose Roofing Material & Get Your Roof Replacement Quote

Once you’ve decided to move forward with a roof replacement, we walk you through choosing the correct roof system. We present you with 3 roof system options: PVC, TPO, and metal roofing. These options are chosen based on your roof pitch, budget, energy-efficiency needs, and how long you plan on staying in your house.

Roof Replacement Installation

On the day we tear-off your existing roof, we remove your existing roofing material down to the deck. We evaluate the deck for damages and replace any rotted or soft areas. We then lay underlayment to prepare for your new roofing material. Once this step is completed we install your new roofing system, which in most cases is a TPO roof system or a metal roof system.

Signs You Need a Roof Replacement vs Repair

While roof damage doesn’t automatically warrant replacement, there comes a point when patches and fixes are no longer cost-effective, and installing a new roof is the better financial option. We walk our clients through these signs to see if replacement is the right choice.
Isolated damage. Several cracked tiles? A three-foot section missing shingles? Flashing failing in one area?
If your roof is less than 15 years old and the damage is minimal, a repair can likely extend its life.
If the underlayment is intact, repairing tile roofs is cost-effective.
The leak is isolated to one source. As in the previous example, if there is a single offending area that can be addressed without disturbing the rest of the roof, we can usually repair it.
The roof is more than 20 years old. This is notable because roof systems in New Mexico typically do not last beyond 15-25 years due to material and maintenance factors.
Leaks are in multiple areas. Rather than a single offending area, if your roof system has begun to leak in multiple areas, it is failing.
Underlayment failure (Tile roofs). If the underlayment fails across large areas of your roof, ripping and replacing tiles is like putting a Band-Aid on a large cut.
Large areas of shingle damage. When your shingles are curling, cracking, and losing granules across your entire roof, they have reached the end of their lifespan.
Damage to the structural deck. Soft areas, sagging, or rotted decking mean you'll have to tear off and replace the decking.
The money you’ve spent on repairs could cover a new roof. If you have already spent money on three or four repair visits in the past two years, consider replacement.
